Dear Family and Friends,
I just wish to inform you of something that I learned as a
kindergarten student. Take good care of time. It will never be this
exact same time ever again. Ever.
Well, on that note, Happy New Year! 明けましておめでとうございます！How are those New
Years Resolutions coming along? I hope you've made them.
This time of year, the Influenza has been going around, but don't
worry! I have not been sick! No influenza for me! The Elders in Kofu
have had it going around, which is really hard on them. But the most
of them, well, about half of them are well. And well, the ward members
are so willing to help and take care of us!
Well, what all has happened this week? There's been a lot. With the
Holidays here in Japan, specifically 正月Shogatsu, which is, the first
three days of the New Year, there haven't been many people to talk to
on the streets. We had English Class on New Years Eve, after eating at
a Chinese Restaurant, and to our utmost surprise, many people came!
There were eight people! We were literally expecting two or three, if
that many came. So, with the missionaries included, there were about
sixteen people there.
It was a great class! We talked about many phrases in English that are
weird and don't actually mean what they say. "Don't have a cow." Or
"in a pickle"
And then we played the game, Do You Love Your Neighbor, which is
always a good way to turn anything into a fun game. :)
Afterwards, a really awesome friend and I were talking about our New
Years Resolutions. I really liked hers. She said she wanted to pass
Exams for college this year. But as we talked about my experiences of
how I always trusted God, and how He always helped me through
everything, she also told me, that she really wants to find God. We
talked about prayer, and how God loves all of us because we are His
I hope that we all have the goal to find God this year. For where can
God be found?
He cannot be found in the argument.
He cannot be bought at a store.
He is not hiding under the earth,
Or in boxes, or in ribbons, or glamour.
He is found when we humbly seek Him,
Kneeling silently in prayer.
If we do not close our hearts, or shut our eyes,
We can find Him anytime, anywhere.
So here you are reading this poem,
And you have this placed before you,
Will you seek Him now and learn of Him,
Or will you forget this poem too?
If you truly wish and choose to find God,
He is never very far away.
Just bow your head, and close your eyes,
And then begin to pray.
"Are You there, God? Do You know who I am?
Are You watching me day by day?
What shall I be, to be close with Thee,
In every single way?
Can I be a little kinder today?
Can I follow the Savior's advice,
Can I trust that Thou are standing with me,
And are kind, and strong and wise?"
And then you will know, As I've come to know,
That He is there, leading our way,
If you listen to Him, and just follow Him,
You'll see His perfect love today.
Love you everyone. I literally just wrote that poem, so I hope you
enjoy it. He really is just a prayer away. I hope you know that I know
that. He is with us in our sad times, and in our happy times, and He
ALWAYS wants to hear from us, through prayer. Isn't that what a good
