Dear Family and Friends,
Thank you! I got the pie recipe I wanted! It will be great!
I have actually healed, for my slip down the stairs, but then I caught
a cold! Oh no! Which has led me to the conclusion that Priesthood
Blessings are amazing, in all things.
This last week, we had so much, so I only rested a couple times. On
Tuesday, we went by train to Fujiyoshida, the city where Mt Fuji
resides! Alas it was rainy, so we couldn't see the mountain, but we
were able to visit with a few members there! We found out that a long
time ago there used to be a Ward there, but because it was not
growing, and only had just a few members, they had to discontinue the
Ward, but we've decided to focus on making Yamanashi Stake. Goals!
On the way back from Fujiyoshida, we sat down on the train to discover
it was the same person we met the day before! Last Monday, my
companion and I were trying to find a restaurant that we were invited
to come eat at, by a friend of ours, so we decided to go. .. And then
we met Maho-chan! She used to come to our eikaiwa! She is so sweet!
And it was really awesome to meet her. But then we saw her the next
day on the train! And then we knew we were supposed to meet her again!
We had a lesson on Wednesday with a Peruvian woman who is so nice! Her
member friend is also from Peru, so she was there for the lesson. ^.^
it ended up being mostly in Spanish. Makes me wish I'd done a better
job those two years I studied it. :D I just have to try better now!
Three languages! 頑張ろう！She is so kind. And her cooking was way too
good! Peruvian food is so good!
Friday was interviews. It was the best interview I have had,
personally. On the way there, I was sad. I thought about how transfer
calls were coming, and wondered if I would be transferred from Kofu.
But after interviews, I felt comforted. Maybe I'll stay one more
transfer. And I was right! We got a call this morning, from President
Wada!! The email that announced when transfer calls would be said hey
would come after 11:30, so we were both surprised when a call came
from President Wada at 11:15! It was to tell Sister Clark that she was
going to be sister training leader, and to also let us know that we
were both staying in Kofu! Yay!
And then we celebrated by going out to eat Ramen today at a very super
delicious restaurant. It was funny because I actually told my
companion, "Hey you know, it would be funny if we got there and all
the elders were there." She laughed at that. But when we got there to
park our bikes, the Elders' bikes were actually there! It was only two
of them, but those two are also staying.
I also got to attend the Questions of the Soul Presentation last week
at Hachioji Church. President Wada always teaches so powerfully, it
makes me want to try harder to be like Christ.
I love the Book of Mormon! And I love it when we get to learn about it
together in District meetings, and then in interviews, and then
through everyday experiences!
For example, doing kubari, passing out flyers, and getting to talk to
someone about the Book of Mormon. She is awesome! And then meeting a
mom and a child trying to find an English class because the daughter
loves English. Study may not have any interest in church, but they
sure love English. So we'll take it!
Also, last Saturday was our thanksgiving celebration with a member. So
many people were there, including the missionaries, and then, all of
that family brought friends who want to come to church! Yesterday, at
church, the sister who is the mother of that family came to me and
told me that that was different from any other year she's had all the
missionaries over, and that the friends who came really seem like they
are interested in church. She didn't even know that those people who
coming, so I guess it surprised all of us. The lord knew what He was
